Enchanting Florals for a Dark Fairytale, Old World Villa Wedding

When Lexi shared her vision for her wedding florals—describing them as “effortless”and “wild”—we knew we were in for an exciting challenge, to create a dark fairytale wedding aesthetic.

Wedding Aesthetic & Style

The essence of this vision was not to overwhelm with variety but to enchant with selection and style. Limiting our floral recipe to around ten types of flowers, we aimed to showcase each bloom’s unique beauty and versatility, ensuring each arrangement told a story.

Floral Color Palette

Lexi was all about creating a vibe that screamed moody romantic.

We convinced her to go with a charteuse table linen and thankfully she agreed. It was crucial to nail that dark fairytale wedding aesthetic making it look effortless. Here you see wild greens , romantic dahlias and roses, Black Kale , Pomegranate, grapes and kiwis.

Designing with Depth and Texture

Our journey started with blending dark, lush greenery with pops of violet for that old-world wedding inspiration. Then, we threw in some gold vessels to light up the place with a vintage glow. When they picked Moody Victorian, all our design dreams came true. We mixed dark and light, bringing white anemones and roses contrasting the dark brass vessels. It was all about creating moments that felt like they were plucked from a beautifully moody dream.

Villa Woodbine as a Backdrop.

One element that elevated the ambiance of Lexi and Matthew’s wedding was the breathtaking photography by Marissa Demott. Marissa’s photography caught every detail, turning moments into timeless memories. Villa Woodbine is a vibe on its own.

Its stone walls and lush gardens were the perfect playground for the moody old-world theme. =

Nestled in the heart of Coconut Grove, harmonized with our floral designs, created a seamless blend of nature and architecture that worked beautifully together.

Chic Floral Tablescape – Candles, Fruit Accents and Floral Installs

We had fun at villa woodbine, creating a cohesive look with Stair Floral Installs, adorning the fountain, ceremony florals for the chuppah and of course tablescape design including florals and candles. With its unique texture and dark violet hues, the Black Anthurium and dark kale leaves became the center of our arrangements. Supported by delicate anemones, the rustic charm of scabiosa, and the black kale leaves, it was a testament to the beauty that lies in diversity.

Adding Privett berries and strategically placed cut fruit like pomegranate, kiwis and berries preserved our theme’s texture and added an unexpected and delightful element to the @simplerustic’s Farm Tables.

Lexi and Matthew’s wedding of a well-crafted floral design to transform a space and tell a unique story. From the moody depths of dark greenery and violet hues to the light and elegance of white anemones and roses, each element played a pivotal role in creating an enchanting and deeply personal atmosphere.
